You’re probably writing this during Spring, when the days are still a bit chilly and the hot days of midsummer seem far away.

You know that seasonal posts are an important part of any blog’s editorial calendar, and month-based posts can give you a nice traffic boost.

While many people take long breaks in July from their blogs and websites, I usually do not. That’s when you’ll find me doing some key blogging activities, in prep for a busy Fall season.

July is a slow time for many things: from business (everybody is on vacation) to online traffic.

Despite writing on July blog topics, you may see a dip in blog traffic during this time in most cases.

The first thing to do is NOT PANIC.

This is the perfect time to do some “blog cleaning”.

• Update your old blog posts, including SEO

• Tackle any technical SEO challenges: clean up broken backlinks, improve the site’s speed (install WP Rocket and watch your site load super fast – worth the small investment!), optimize your blog images, etc.

• Design and schedule Pinterest images for the next 2 to 3 months – use my free Pinterest templates to help design them faster!

• Craft Summer and Fall blog content. Batch write your blog posts for August through to October if you can. Early Fall is a busy period!

• Improve your blogging knowledge & skills. Take a course or get an ebook that will help improve your blogging skills

• Tackle what’s holding you back. Consider getting help with blog coaching sessions with an expert who can help you overcome challenges you’ve come across this year.

• Do a complete rebrand! Get a new blog theme (like this one from Restored 316 or others from 17th Avenue). Check out my favourite feminine blog themes for blogs and online businesses.

• Jumpstart content planning. Take some of these July blog topics and start planning a year ahead.

I can go on and on with the blog “housekeeping” activities list.
