How To Grow A Facebook Group In 5 Easy Ways
Let’s get down to learning about how to grow your Facebook group faster and better.
All these methods are ones that I’ve used in the past year to grow my group steadily to over 3,100 quality members.
1. Invite People To Your Facebook Group Via Your Blog Posts, Digital Products & Courses
If you scroll down to the bottom of this post, you’ll see a banner that invites you to join my Facebook group.
This is an image I’ve added to my Media library on this WordPress site, and I’ve added the HTML coding in my theme to have it included in every blog post.
If your theme allows for any kind of banner at the bottom of your post, this would be a great place to put your “ad” with a call-to-action to join your Facebook group.
The second way to grow your Facebook group through your posts is by mentioning it in relevant blog posts.
Whether it’s as part of the content or as a call-to-action at the end of a blog post, including your Facebook group gives it more exposure.
Somebody who is reading your content and loving it will be more likely to join your group.
Promoting Your Facebook Group In Digital Products & Courses
Another fantastic way to grow your Facebook group is by including an invitation and link within your digital products and courses.
I like to have an introduction section where I do this – something that stands out and is at the beginning of the product or course.
PRO TIP: If you’re sending a thank you or welcome email for the purchase of the product or course, remember to include the invitation to your Facebook group there as well! Not only do you build your email list, but you build your Facebook group as well.
2. Promote Your Facebook Group In Your Profile Descriptions
Want to know how to grow your Facebook group smartly? Promote it in all of your profile descriptions!
Whether it’s your Instagram account, Threads, Twitter or Pinterest, it’s always smart to promote your Facebook group when you’re just starting.
What if you have a general link to a Linktree or a blog page that has other links?
That’s fine. Just include a call to action in your description to join it.
Here’s mine:
3. Partner With Another Facebook Group Owner In A Relevant Niche
One of the best things that I did when I was starting my Facebook group was to do a swap with a few similar Facebook group owners.
I partnered with them by giving them an opportunity to promote their Facebook group in mine, and vice versa.
This was done simply by giving them permission to promote their Facebook group in a promo day thread.
There are more things you can do in a partnership:
- Take over their group for the day
- Be interviewed in a video chat that’s shared in the group
- Get featured in a special post by the group admin
Leveraging another group’s followers can give your Facebook group a big boost!
4. Invite People To Your Facebook Group Via Your Lead Magnet & Thank You Page
Do you know those automatic pages that pop up when you sign up for a freebie?
Usually, they have a deal for something awesome that’s on a timer.
Well, sometimes they pop up a “thank you page”.
These pages – like mine – are a great place to add an invitation to join your Facebook group.
You wouldn’t believe how many people have signed up for my group just from this page alone.
The second place to add an invitation to your group is in your email newsletter itself.
I usually add mine as a PS under my signature to make it clearly visible.

5. Create Ambassadors In Your Own Facebook Group Members
Finally, one of the most powerful ways to grow your Facebook group is by word-of-mouth.
This happened to me and my group EXPLODED.
One of my members, who loved my group’s vibe, content and how I was running it, shared it as a recommendation on another Blogging Facebook group.
My member essentially became an ambassador for the group.
So how do you make Facebook group members rave about your group and invite others?
- Being present and engaging every day
- Giving members content that engages them (polls, questions, inspiring posts, informative posts)
- Make it attractive: use quality visuals and on-brand images
- Being real and relatable, using your brand voice
This last part is important.
If you’re the expert, it’s important to share your real examples and stories to make things relatable to your group members.
It’s also about your personal branding.
If you’re doing a good job of positioning yourself and branding yourself, you’re bound to build your loyal follower base.
When your group is well-run, with adherence to group rules and quality participants, you’re more likely to get referrals from members.
PRO TIP: When you’re using images in your Facebook group, consider keeping to your blog or business brand colours. I find that the stock photos from Ivory Mix and PixiStock are excellent for women bloggers and business owners.
